I am the current director of the Lackawanna Library, one of the last libraries to receive Carnegie funding for construction. We are still a thriving component of the Lackawanna community in 2025, over 100 years since the building’s construction, now as a member of the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library system. We also house the Lackawanna Historical Museum (previously the Lackawanna Steel Company Museum) in our basement, where patrons can see photos and paraphernalia from residents across the entire timeline of our small city. A great many of our patrons come in with stories of having grown up coming here, and we look forward to serving our community for many more years to come!
