From approximately 1946 until I graduated from high school in 1961, I made almost weekly visits to this library. I can still take myself back there whenever I enter a library room that has that “library smell.” My father went to the library every week when he retired to read the newspapers that they brought in daily. Our last visit to the library, which has now expanded on both sides of the original library, was in September 2025. So many fond memories of that building make it a regular stop on our reunion trips to South Dakota. That library has always been a very central part of the Madison, South Dakota, community. I know they will make great use of the $10,000 donation.
