A Carnegie gift made possible construction of Washington and Lee University’s library in 1905. The library moved to a new building on campus almost 10 years before I became a W&L student. Today, the original Carnegie Library is set to undergo a major renovation to serve our business school. The bones are strong, and it will continue to serve students for years to come. At the same time, W&L’s library has adapted to changes in technology and remains the heartbeat of our university community. Thank you, Andrew Carnegie!
