I have been the director here since 2004. In that time, I have seen thousands of patrons walk through our doors. We are a small, rural community, and our Carnegie Library is vital to our town. It was built in 1913 and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. There was a renovation in 2001 that doubled the size of our building. In 2021, we did another project to update and repair the building. It is used six days a week and just recently started holding meetings for our local historical society. We host children’s, adult, and summer reading programs. We work with our local churches and town hall to provide services to our community. We have twice-weekly story times for the children and offer spaces for our caregivers to relax and read a book. We circulate all types of materials as well as hot spots for our patrons. We are a part of Evergreen Indiana, OverDrive, and Gale. One of the absolute best things about us is C.S. Lewis, our library cat! He loves the patrons, and they love him!
