Our beautiful Carnegie Library was the site of the Reading Week “villages” built and displayed by librarian Harriet Galloway to local school children. Our library introduced me to the joys of reading, and the librarians, Mrs. Kaslon and Mrs. Chilewski, always had another book to recommend. In 1997 our public and school libraries decided to join together to provide books to the community. A local businessman renovated the Carnegie building, and it now houses our economic development group, our Sherman County Community Foundation, and a local massage and physical therapy group. The building remains a proud presence and vibrant part of our community.
